Accessible Textbooks
The Accessibility Unit, in order to enhance the unhindered participation of people with disabilities and people with special needs in the educational process, hired librarians with the aim, among other things, of converting educational material and books into an accessible format.
The services currently offered by the Librarians of the Equal Access Unit include:
- managing registration requests from students with print disabilities or special educational needs in the AMELib service through the existing registration form
- the conversion of educational material into an accessible format based on the accessibility specifications and guidelines of AMELib (Accessible Multi-modal Electronic Library). At the current time, the service concerns note from IHU teachers, which must be provided in a specific digital format (word or pdf).
- the conditional posting of the above material on the university’s asynchronous eLearning platform.
For more information about the above services, you can contact our Unit’s executives.
